True they have alot of power, but sadly we cannot do without. Even if we manage to overthow it, then what? It's a seat of power that has to be occupied. Problem lies not with the job but the fact we men are easily swayed by the power and thus turn corrupt. And we eagerly accept what ever the economy trows at us.

How is this even a question?

The leverage afforded a lobbyist thanks to his "contributions" have directly shaped policy on every front and its not an influence garnered through grassroots activism, its cold hard cash.

And I am not talking about Democrats vs Republicans, or liberals vs conservatives. Both sides knwo that Congress is up for sale because honestly 95 percent of them have a tramp stamp that says "For Sale--All Bids Accepted"

And Lobbyist can buy Congress to push their agenda, and direct policy that severs a Corporate Agenda that belittles the American Ideal of of Life Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness but someone has to be selling it.

So yeah Lobbyists suck but we need to put 535 "Public Servants" out to pasture before they sell this country away like it was a Quickie Mart.

Wall Street has WAY to much control. It's not just in the market either...look at how intertwined various financial institutions and our government have become starting way back in the mid-to-late 70's. We are just feeling the effects NOW of something that has been brewing for YEARS.

So, Im seeing a large majority of people favoring to get rid of the greedy ones at the top. I want to know from the other people (1%) who dont agree with that. Why do you think things should stay the same and get govt out of the way and let the free market control things?

It's complex...Yes they have a lot of control over/ strongly the economy and Yes they need to be regulated. The fundamental structure of the system works...you just have to crack a bullwhip out on the greediest motherfuckers all the way at the top.

No, IMO. The average person has too little interest in seriously changing anything. Wall street and Lobbyist only have 'power' because of that.

Does the driving force of the economy have too much control over the economy? Is that really a fair question? Anyone that owns stocks is part of Wall Street. Prosecute the criminals, not the ones earning the money
