Without God and Jesus nothing else would be possible. My vote and and faith will always be in the Bible. The Bible is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. It can never be changed or altered by any political group or greasy lobbyist.
Rather than debate the validity/invalidity of the Bible I felt it necessary to comment.
Lets get our facts straight about the Constitution and other articles pertaining to this democracy.
The Constitution is the document that defines the structure of our government and enumerates the powers for each branch. In enumerating those powers, its limits them. Pretty smart and I say it is pretty relevant and necessary. Without it there is only chaos.
The liberties that we all enjoy now are guaranteed by the Bill of Rights and the Amendments, also very relevant and necessary.
The Declaration of Independence was official declaration of the illegal actions of a hostile monarchy against its populace, the over-arching principles that guided the framers words come from the Bible. There is little to no evidence against that statement.
These self-same articles are the inspiration for all other documents like it throughout the world where representative democracies have been established.
Knowing all of this can a person seriously state that these documents are archaic and irrelevant?
I'm not American, I'm also an atheist. But in my mind, neither. The constitution was written in an age very different to the one we currently live in, and I don't understand this constant need to uphold such an old document that isn't entirely relevant anymore. And don't even get me started on the bible...
