Ok.. Pancratia is here. I know allot of people have been waiting for this. Go to [link] to see the site. Some will like it, some wont. Thats fine.. Im not expecting to please everyone. So for those who think ..."its cool, but"... Im ready for all criticism. There is nothing you can say thats gonna hurt my feelings. All this site is, is a beginning.. I got way more coming. Its just a beta version. I recommend that other artist do your thing, like I am.. Dont let anyone tell you you cant do it. Who's to stop you but yourself. If you got skillz, use it!
This image at the top is a preview of some panels in the animation. Its also gonna be in my sketch book for comic con. I hope you like it. so go..go...go...GO!!! Go to the site.. [link] Dont forget to come back to deviant and leave a comment. I dont have a comment section in the site yet. But, its coming. Just do it......Who cares! Im gonna take a 30 min break to play Call of Duty. Dont sleep on my boy Cheeks.. He has some cool stuff coming out real soon. Keep an eye out for it. Peace, Ryan CommentsI really really like the textures and how the effects, like dust, fire, and smoke were animated. And of course, your art skills KILL!
My only problem with it, and I'm not sure if you want any crits, but, the one thing that was jarring was that the animation would stop before the words were all there, or before clicking the next panel. Maybe a loop or something would be good to lessen that jarring effect. Other than that small thing, I think it is brilliant. What program are you using for this? -- GALLERY ZERO [link] \"I wouldn\'t want to be a part of any club that would have me as a member.\" --Groucho Marx Forever is a limited time only. My LinkedIn Profile[link] Very cool, art style and subtle animation work. Great use of texture and earthy colours, immediately set the visual tone. I liked the music for the credits/opener, but it'd be cool if that faded off into something with more atmosphere & tension in the later issues and have that transition triggered by a certain panel. You've got a great grasp on after effects, I'd done a similar short project during my studies. This is definitely inspiring.
-- "Painting is silent poetry, and poetry is painting with the gift of speech." -Simonides- It was very cool. Like where it's heading.
Pacing/Story-wise, the end of the first issue was a cliff hanger but I didn't find myself caring much about the woman's fate (or the wounded person by the bus). This is likely because there isn't any emotional connection established between her and the reader just yet. So while I am curious what happens next, I'm not in that, "OMG! I hope she kicks their butt or they don't hurt her" phase just yet but it looked like I should have been. However, it's 16 panels and I have yet to find a new book that pulled someone in emotionally within that time frame. Overall, it felt like reading up to the start of a single issue's climax and so with that in mind, you're right on track. It's got a great gritty feel, awesome art (obviously) and the soundtrack was cool but not distracting, so I'm really looking forward to the next episode! Sorry for the hyper crit so early on in the comic, I just really like the premise and want to keep things real with ya. |
